Arada secures first Australian approval for 33-floor London Place in Sydney

UAE-based master developer Arada has received approval from the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for London Place, a 33-floor residential development in Campsie, Sydney. The approval marks Arada’s first project approval in Australia and the first of five projects planned for Sydney’s Inner Southwest region, supporting housing supply and urban renewal across the area. With a gross development value of Dh560 million, construction is targeted to begin in Q2 2027, with completion expected in Q4 2029.
Designed by Woods Bagot, London Place will comprise 156 apartments, including 18 designated as affordable housing. The development will offer two-, three- and four-bedroom residences, including sub-penthouse and penthouse homes.
Residents will have access to amenities including a lounge, private dining room, music room, gym, covered BBQ terrace, lap pool, spa, sauna and outdoor seating areas.
Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, said, “When we look at where to build, we are drawn to places with genuine potential: communities that are on the cusp of something special, where the right investment at the right moment can make a genuine difference. Campsie is that exactly that kind of community, and London Place is the first of five projects we are planning for Sydney’s Inner Southwest region, which together represent a long-term commitment to the area. Our ambition in Australia is significant and strategic, and this approval gives us real momentum as we bring our broader pipeline forward.”
London Place is being developed as Campsie undergoes significant urban transformation, supported by the imminent opening of Campsie Metro Station. The development will provide residents with access to Sydney’s CBD by metro in under 20 minutes.
The approval followed recognition of the project as a State Significant Development (SSD) by the NSW Housing Delivery Authority, providing a streamlined planning pathway for major housing projects. Approval was secured in under four months, following the rezoning of the site.
Arada entered Australia in 2024 and has since assembled a pipeline of more than 6,000 homes. Globally, the company has a project pipeline valued at Dh171 billion and a portfolio of more than 70,000 homes across the UAE, UK, Australia and Syria.
